Stop! Café Maure! said a sign that caught my attention on the steep road to the imposing sixth-century fortress of Kelibia, at the tip of Tunisias Cap Bon peninsula. I obeyed the sign, and stepped into the modest open-air café overlooking the sea, where I took a seat on a straw amt in front of a low, round table. The house specialty was this wonderfully refreshing strawberry drink. Over the next hour, I had several glasses while breathing in the pine-scented air and enjoying the magnificent view of the scintillating blue waters of the Mediterranean.
