Yeajja atmit is a thick, delicious drink which can be taken any time. This, like the cereal butter, is highly recommended for pregnant as well as new mothers. Yeajja Atmit tastes better when served fresh from the pot.
1 cup oats
2 cups water
sugar or honey to taste
1 Tbsp. butter (optional)
Soak the oats in water overnight. The next day, rub the oats between the fingers to completely remove the husks. Strain and boil the liquid while stirring. When it thickens add sugar or honey to taste and serve hot in cups.
Butter added before serving gives it a rich, creamy consistency.
Makes two servings.
